Rats and mice are common rodents that many across the country deal with in their homes. Mouse control is a common need for homeowners who have an infestation and who are looking for help with their Sacramento mice control plan of attack.

Flower Beds- Make sure the mulch you use in your beds is not too deep as this can provide hiding and nesting places for mice. Also, make sure your beds are weeded and tended to often as frequent human presence will discourage mice.

Shrubs- Keep your shrubs healthy and trimmed back and make sure they are not planted too close to the home. If shrubs are right up against the house this can provide an easy access pint for mice to get to the walls and windows and find a way to get in.

Leaf Litter- Make sure you rake or blow your yard clean of leaf litter on a regular basis so you remove hiding places that mice like to use. Also, if you have a leaf pile or compost pile ae sure it is located as far away from the home as possible as mice love to nest in leaf litter and plant material.

Underbrush- If you have areas of your yard set up as gardens or a more natural growth area to attract wildlife like birds and such make sure you trim out the underbrush. Welcomed wildlife does not need underbrush in most cases and it’s a popular hiding area for rats and mice.

Mowing- Pay attention to how you mow your yard and the length you keep your grass. Taller grass provides cover for mice to run around and they can get from shrubs and wooded areas to your home easier when there is tall grass to cover and protect them.
